Donor Online Giving Portal Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

The Pierce County Library Foundation (the “Foundation,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization promoting and supporting philanthropic activities for the Pierce County Library System, located in Tacoma, Washington. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our donors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information within our secure online cloud-based donor portal (“Portal”), hosted by Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT. The Portal allows donors to view and manage their contact information, access giving history, make a donation, update payment details as needed, and view related account details.

By accessing or using the Portal, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

To support your donor relationship with the Foundation, we collect and maintain the following information:

• Contact Information: Name, mailing address, email address, phone number, and other information you choose to provide.

• Giving Information: Donation history, pledge information, and payment method type. For your security, we do not retain full credit or debit card numbers).Account Information: Communication preferences and Portal activity.

This information is collected directly from you or through your interactions with the Foundation.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to support your engagement with the Foundation and to maintain accurate donor records. This includes:

• Providing you with access to your donor profile and giving history

• Processing and acknowledging donations

• Communicating with you about receipts, updates, and Foundation news

We use your information only for purposes that support the mission of the Foundation.

4. No Selling or Sharing of Personal Information

The Foundation does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information to outside vendors, third-party marketers, or unrelated organizations.

Your information is used exclusively for internal Foundation purposes.

We engage a trusted third-party service (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT) to support the technical operation of the Portal (for example, secure hosting, data storage, or authentication services). These providers are required to:

• Use your information only to perform services for the Foundation

• Maintain strict confidentiality

• Implement appropriate and industry standard security safeguards

This third-party service is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes.

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. While no system can be guaranteed completely secure, we are committed to maintaining strong data protection practices.

7. Access and Updates

You may login to the Portal at any time to review and update your contact information. If any information is inaccurate or requires correction, please contact the Foundation so we can assist.

8. Cookies and Portal Usage

The Portal may use Internet browser-based cookies or similar technologies to:

• Maintain your login session

• Improve Portal performance

• Enhance user experience

These tools collect only the information necessary for Portal functionality and analytics.

9. Age Restrictions

The Portal is intended for use by donors 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. (Because we do not collect birth dates, we do not have ways to verify someone’s age, but should there be reason to believe an account is that of a minor’s, it will be removed.)

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted within the Portal along with the effective date. Continued use of the Portal indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
